Sherin Ahmed, LCSW-R, M.S.A.

Sherin has been in the field of social work for over 20 years pre- and post graduate school and training, practicing with Children, Adolescents and Families in child welfare, mental health systems, private practice and juvenile justice. She received her 1st Masters in Administration from Audrey Cohen now known as Metropolitan College and then received her MSW from Adelphi University. She has also completed a Post Masters Certificate Program in Clinical practice with Children Adolescents and Family Therapy from NYU.

Over the years she has participated and led the Clinical Implementation of treatment models  in various settings, provided direct therapy, clinically trained, mentored, supervised staff and students. She has completed the 2 part 5 day DBT Intensive, DBT Foundational Trainings, and various skills trainings from 2010 to 2012 and recently in 2017 at Columbia University.

Currently she is the Director of the Health Home Care Management Program, DBT consultation Team lead and in charge of the DBT implementation Project at the Seamen’ Society for Children and Families; a non – profit ACS Child Welfare Agency that services children in foster care and families of the Brooklyn and Staten Island Community.
