We’d like to thank Alumna Megumi Uchino ’18, Gender Specialist at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), for leading an insightful career talk on social workers’ role in international social welfare and strategies to land opportunities in the field. Through the talk, attendees learned how to effectively assess and articulate their skills and value to prospective employers and how to leverage resources, opportunities, and networks at CSSW and the wider Columbia community to advance towards an international career.
While at CSSW, Megumi concentrated on Social Enterprise Administration within the World of Work. She was also a Honjo Scholarship recipient, an award offered by the Honjo Foundation to students who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing U.S.-Japan relations. See her full bio here.
