School Social Worker Opportunities with NYC Department of Education
The NYC Department of Education will be hiring 500 new School Social Workers to begin working in September 2021!
This new initiative will ensure that every school building will have at least one full-time social worker or school-based mental health clinician in addition to other pre-existing supports like Community School programs and resources across the city! Those hired will be joining over 6,000 social workers, guidance counselors, and school psychologists to support students and schools this fall along with community-based resources.
Note that you must possess a current and valid NY State certification as a School Social Worker OR be on track to meet qualifications by September 1, 2021. Certification may either be provisional or permanent.
