Frida in New York

December 9, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Community & Events

ARTE uses the arts to educate and inspire young people to organize around human rights issues. Given our commitment to supporting youth of color through creativity and self-expression, we are thrilled to be honoring the legacy of Frida Kahlo, a radical, queer unapologetic feminist of color. Please celebrate with us at the Starr Bar in Brooklyn for a night inspired by Frida’s work including interactive arts activities, celebrity video greetings, drinks, food, and conversation. This community event will be part of a larger fundraising campaign to support ARTE’s efforts to build a sustainable movement of human rights organizing through the arts. Please join us as we honor the social justice warriors that came before us so that we can create a more equitable and just future. A downloadable .pdf flyer can be found here. You can RSVP on our Facebook Event Page here. Please e-mail questions to [email protected].
