Envisioning Life After Incarceration: A Gendered Response

Please join The Institute for Research on Women, Gender, and Sexuality (IRWGS) and the Center for Justice for the first in a series of interactive panels on women and mass incarceration and criminalization. “Envisioning Life after Incarceration” will focus on the challenges women face pre- and post-incarceration and will explore public policy and other gendered responses to rebuilding a life after incarceration.

Featured participants will include: Reuben Miller of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ and the School of Social Administration, University of Chicago, Miyoshi Benton of The Women in Justice Project, and Yolanda Johnson-Peterkin of the New York City Housing Authority. The conversation will be moderated by Assistant Professor of Sociology and African-American Studies, Carla Shedd.
