Barcode – A Performative Analysis of the School-to-Prison-Pipeline

April 25, 2014 @ 7:00 pm

$5

Join us for one of the biggest events of the semester at Columbia’s medical campus! The featured performance will be a narrative of the student actors’ involvement with the school to prison pipeline. It combines rhyme, multimedia, hip-hop theatre, dance, and personal testimony.

The play draws connections from Trayvon Martin, sourcing interviews with formerly incarcerated youths, and citing research from NYC’s Stop & Frisk trials. There will also be a discussion on restorative justice, and a talk back with the youth performing.

Location: Alumni Auditorium on Fri, April 25th @ 7pm
William Black Medical Research Building
650 W 168th St (Ft. Washington Ave)

Tickets: $5 for students, $10 for general admission — ALL proceeds go to Truthworker Theatre Company!
