The Center for the Study of Law and Culture invites you to attend “The Immigration Act of 1965,” a conversation celebrating therecent publication of “The 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act: Legislating a New America.” The conversation will take place on December 3 at 4:00 p.m. in Case Lounge.
Columbia Law School Visiting Professor Rose Villazor (LL.M., ’06) edited the first book devoted to the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments, along with Professor Gabriel J. Chin of U.C. Davis School of Law. The text places current-day immigration debates in context and provides historically informed policy suggestions. Panelists will explore the connections between theImmigration Act and the “civil rights revolution” of the 1960s and the ways we talk and think about “race” law and politics.
