Summit on Youth Education at Rikers Island

The Center for Justice and Create Forward are hosting a Summit on Youth Education at Rikers Island (and Horizons and Crossroads) The morning will include two panels and the afternoon will convene working meetings around several areas including social justice pedagogy, reentry support, orienting new educators and more.

Where: Columbia University School of Social Work – 1255 Amsterdam Avenue New York, NY 10027
This summit is for educators, youth workers, teaching artists, young people, and administrators involved in youth education work on Rikers Island as well as the two NYC juvenile facilities: Horizon and Crossroads.
This summit will provide a space to explore and examine pedagogy and practice, collaboration, reentry support, and social justice education.
