ReLOVEution Collective Dialogue
May 8, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Undoing Racism Internship Project (URIP) invites you to our annual ReLOVEution Collective Dialogue on Friday, May 8 from 6pm-8:30pm.
Every year we join together to examine the role of LOVE in our lives and within our movement work. This year we are excited to join Piper Anderson and Marlon Peterson, the co-authors and founders of SpreadMassLOVE, to dive into a nuanced and experiential dialogue about love in the era of mass incarceration.
$7-10 sliding scale

In the era of mass incarceration, it will require a higher love for us to not only imagine a world without prisons, but to actualize it in our lifetime. Our biggest obstacle to living an ethic of LOVE and performing acts of transformative justice is our collective reality that we or someone we love have all been or will be affected by state violence and carceral conditions.
In the criminal justice lexicon we talk about collateral consequences as if they are distant or objective. But, how often do we infuse love to this long list? Can we think about the ways in which we survive, recover, heal, and learn to love each other despite mass criminalization? Together we will discuss how we can restore relationships and our faith in love, and find tools to continue this dialogue with our families and communities.
Join us as we #SpreadMassLOVE through a transformative experience! We’re looking forward to sharing this space with you.
