Mitigating the Misreading of Boys of Color in Schools

This event is intended to ignite discussion on how educators can work with Black and Brown males in high schools to reimagine the educational landscape.
Join us for an event created by high school boys of color around issues of injustice and inequity in education.
Schedule of Events
10:00am: Multimodal presentations spotlighting the life histories of boys of color
10:45am: Socratic circle analyzing the multimodal texts and what they mean for educators
11:30am: Panel featuring Black and Brown high school boys reflecting on their experiences
12:00pm: Lunch conversations on the education of boys of color in the era of Trump
The event is open to educators (inservice and preservice), university students, faculty, and staff, high school students, families, and community members.
