Injustice and Mass Incarceration: A Threat to Public Health

Please join the Mailman School’s Incarceration and Public Health Initiative for Injustice and Mass Incarceration: A Threat to Public Health onJune 3. This talk will be given by Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer who is known nationally for challenging bias against the poor and people of color. At the nonprofit Equal Justice Initiative, Stevenson leads a team of litigators who advocate on behalf of people wrongly convicted or charged with violent crimes and others whose trials are marked by racial bias or prosecutorial misconduct.
Injustice and Mass Incarceration: A Threat to Public Health is the keynote address for A Public Health Approach to Incarceration: Opportunities for Action, a conference taking a public health lens to issues of incarceration in the U.S. Stevenson’s talk and the welcoming remarks comprise the Conference’s open program, which runs from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Columbia University’s Faculty House.
