A collaborative concert performance of the 1914 opera, Voodoo, by composer-librettist Harry Lawrence Freeman (purchase opera tickets here).Voodoo is at the heart of this two-day conference on African-American performing arts with panel topics on Harlem Renaissance Opera, Aesthetics, and Theater, including an exhibit of Freeman’s manuscript of Voodoo in Columbia’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
