A collaborative concert performance of the 1914 opera, Voodoo, by composer-librettist Harry Lawrence Freeman (purchase opera tickets here).Voodoo is at the heart of this two-day conference on African-American performing arts with panel topics on Harlem Renaissance Opera, Aesthetics, and Theater, including an exhibit of Freeman’s manuscript of Voodoo in Columbia’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library. List of speakers and schedule here.
