WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

Get2PrEP is a three-phase study looking to identify missed opportunities for HIV prevention services per CDC/DOH recommendations for bacterial STI positivity, as well as improve referral and linkage to care for patients testing positive for gonorrhea and/or chlamydia.

WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

This study utilizes text messaging delivery surveys to better understand retention in care and evaluate the effect of patients receiving personalized feedback on retention in care for individuals taking PrEP.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Any male patient, aged 18-65, taking OR starting PrEP and accessing the PrEP clinic. The patient must understand and read English.

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO?

Participants will go through the consent process and fill out a ~12-minute survey at the initial visit. The remainder of the study takes place on their phones. They will be texted links to weekly surveys (1-min. duration) and a bit longer of a survey every 6 weeks (5-min. duration). There is an additional survey at the end of the study similar to the enrollment survey.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?

Participants will receive the surveys for 1 year (52 weeks).

WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

This study determines the prevalence of GI pathogens, which can be transmitted during sex and may present asymptomatically (including giardia, campylobacter, shigella, and pathogenic strains of E. coli among others), among MSM taking PrEP.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Participants must already be enrolled in Stick2PrEP 2.0 (see criteria above).

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO?

Participants will provide an additional rectal swab (in addition to the GC/CT one) at the initial visit and their regular follow-up visits (4 swabs total).* They will also complete a 2-min. survey at the initial visit.
*If the participant presents to the clinic at any other time with GI symptoms and a stool test is ordered, an additional swab might be requested at that time.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?

Participants will provide rectal swabs at their initial, 3-mo., 6-mo., and 9-mo. visits (4 visits, 9 mo. total).

ARE THERE ANY BENEFITS OR COMPENSATION?

Participants will receive $5 for each rectal swab they provide ($20 total, or a max. of $25 if an additional swab is requested).

WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

This study is evaluating barriers to comprehensive HIV prevention services among high school students in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx accessing school-based health centers (SBHCs).

WHO QUALIFIES?

Patients aged 13-18 at risk of HIV infection and accessing one of six different SBHCs in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx.

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO?

Participants will take Truvada for PrEP as prescribed, complete a brief survey on their phone each week, and attend regular follow-up visits in their SBHC for lab work.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?

The study takes place over the course of one year.

ARE THERE ANY BENEFITS OR COMPENSATION?

Participants are able to access Truvada directly through their SBHC, which provides free and confidential services, for one year.

WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

This study is evaluating why people stop taking PrEP or coming to the clinic.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Patients who have not had a visit or refills within the past 6 months.

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO?

Participants will complete a brief survey on their phone and have their medical records reviewed.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.

ARE THERE ANY BENEFITS OR COMPENSATION?

Participants will receive an e-gift card with $10 for Amazon.

WHAT IS THIS STUDY ABOUT?

This study is evaluating why people restart PrEP after a period of not taking PrEP or coming to clinic.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Patients who restarted PrEP after not having a PrEP clinic visit or taking PrEP medication for 6 months or longer.

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO DO?

Participants will have their medical records reviewed. Some participants who return to clinic may be asked to complete a brief survey.

HOW LONG DOES THE STUDY LAST?

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.
