“Andrea del Sarto: The Tailor’s Son and the Making of Masterpieces”

This lecture, which marks the opening day of the special exhibition Andrea del Sarto: The Renaissance Workshop in Action, will reveal the astonishing creativity of Andrea del Sarto and examine the artist’s use of innovative, schematic red chalk compositional drawings and keenly observed studies from life. Following the lecture, the special exhibition will be open for an after-hours viewing.
