This is an important one-day training focused on the significance of self-awareness in our professional development. Students will work in small groups with trained facilitators to engage, observe, explore, and discuss how our social locations can impact our work as professional social workers.
Lunch will be provided during this training. The day’s training was developed by the Professional Development and Self Awareness (PDSA) student coordinators, in consultation with the Office of Advising and support of faculty and administrators. Throughout the year, the PDSA coordinators will develop, plan, and implement a series of training and other related events for the CSSW community designed to increase our knowledge and understanding of issues of power, privilege, identity, and difference and the ways they impact professional social work roles and services. |
