Edison Hong

EDISON HONG (lyricist, book writer, composer) is a New York based theater maker, who is dedicated to bringing important but underrepresented stories to stage. In 2019, he was a fellow at the University of Chicago’s STAGE Labs, a program that creates theatre based on current scientific research. He is also a proud recipient of the Richie Jackson Fellowship in 2016 and has also been chosen for New Musicals Inc.’s 2017 New Voices Project, Prospect Theatre’s Fall 2015 Musical Theatre Lab and the National Asian Artists Project’s 2015 Discover Series. He has participated in residencies at SPACE at Ryder Farm, Catwalk Residency, Goodspeed Opera House, Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ, and NYU’s Graduate Research Initiative Fellowship in Prague. His compositions have been performed at venues such as Joe’s Pub, Sardi’s, Barrington Stage, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and 54 Below. He studied music composition through the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at New York University and is currently an MFA in playwriting candidate at Columbia University.
