Elliott B. Culpepper

ELLIOT B. CULPEPPER is a trans-masc songwriter who occasionally abandons their guitar to write plays. They have a passion for telling stories about “bad” queer people (what cis-het folks can’t know about!), interrogating masculinity, intimacy and gender, through the use of magical realism and interdisciplinary music and movement infused theater. Their work has been workshopped internationally with Liverpool Everyman New Works Department, Hi-ArtsNYC’s Critical Breaks Residency and more. They’ve also worked with the likes of British Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and LYR, in a devising ensemble developing a site specific multi-disciplinary retelling of the epic of GILGAMESH. When not fiddling with an open tuning or frantically writing for a deadline, you can find them down at the pub, defending the merits of melodramatic procedural TV.
