The Anglo-Saxon Studies Colloquim presents Andrew Rabin (University of Louisville) on “Holy Bodies, Legal Matters: Theorizing Law and Gender in an Early Medieval Saint’s Life” at Rutgers University, 302 Murray Hall. Andrew Rabin is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Louisville. He is the author of numerous essays on law, gender, and sanctity in early medieval literature. His recent essay, “Female Advocacy and Royal Protection in Tenth-Century England: The Legal Career of Queen Aelfthryth,” Speculum, v. 84, no. 2 (April, 2009): 261-88, was awarded the 2011 International Society of Anglo-Saxonists prize for “Best Essay on an Anglo-Saxon Topic.”
