From the late 13th century to the Roman de Fauvel (compiled 1316), the Ars nova (c. 1322) of Phillipe de Vitry and the music of Guillaume Machaut.
Under guest music director Scott Metcalfe, TENET will present a mini series called THE CYCLE OF INVENTION to spotlight Machaut’s contribution to composition during the late middle ages while also featuring those who preceded and followed him. During his lifetime, Machaut was known as an incredible poet and a stylistic inventor.
The September 30th concert, “The New Art,” will feature the following performers:
