Professor Elizabeth Mmazzola on “Goneril and Oswald: Shakespeare and the Early Modern Secretary”
Elizabeth Mazzola is Professor of English and has been teaching at CCNY since 1994. She has published essays on Shakespeare, Milton, and
early modern literature and culture and is the author of three books: The Pathology of the English Renaissance (Brill, 1997); Favorite
Sons: The Politics and Poetics of the Sidney Family (Palgrave, 2003); and Women’s Wealth and Women’s Writing in Early Modern England
(Ashgate, 2009). Her talk will be drawn from her current book project, a study of women’s schooling and literacy in the early modern period.
The talk will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 12:30pm in the Lippman Room (NAC 6/308) CCNY North Academic Building on Amsterdam Avenue at 137street.
