The Rutgers University Department of French and the Program in Medieval Studies present a lecture (in French) by

GUILLAUME  BERTHON
Université de Toulon

“Qu’est-ce qu’un livre de poésie?
Clément Marot et son projet poétique”

Monday, February 15, 4:30 – 5:45pm
Ruth Adams Building, room 109A – Douglass Campus

Professor Guillaume Berthon is an École Normale Supérieure alumnus and holds a Doctorate from Paris – Sorbonne University. He is currently Maître de Conférences at the University of Toulon. His book L’Intention du poète. Clément Marot «autheur», published by Éditions Classiques Garnier (Paris) in 2014 and unanimously hailed as a major event in French Renaissance literature studies, is a definitive analysis of Marot’s editorial practices and of the central role played by the book form in the poet’s very conception of his art.
