The Early Modern Disciplinary Group would like to invite you to a symposium on the early modern lyric at the CUNY Graduate Center, room 4406, on 19 April at 4PM.
The interdisciplinary panel will feature James Saslow (The Graduate Center, CUNY) on “Michelangelo’s Love Poetry: Sexual Variance, Textual Variants”; Steven Monte (College of Staten Island, CUNY), “Nationalism and Theft in Renaissance Lyric”; and Richard McCoy (The Graduate Center, CUNY), “Lyric, Lies and Poetic License in the Sonnets of Sidney and Shakespeare.”
There will be a reception wine, cheese, and other snacks afterward.
