Kenneth Gouwens teaches European history at the University of Connecticut. His books include Remembering the Renaissance: Humanist Narratives of the Sack of Rome and (as co-editor) The Pontificate of Clement VII: History, Politics, Culture. His critical edition and translation of Giovio’s dialogue, Famous Men and Women, is forthcoming from Harvard University Press in the I Tatti Renaissance Library Series.
