The Colloquium will feature two outstanding scholars who will pre-circulate the following work in progress to participants:
Jocelyn Wogan-Browne of Fordham University (“Can We Speak of Medieval Vernacular Literatures, Or Only of Vernacular Texts? The Case of French in England”)
and
Daniel Lord Smail of Harvard University (“Good and Debts in Medieval Mediterranean Europe”).
The Colloquium consists of two sessions: a morning session from 10 to 12:30 and an afternoon session from 2:30 to 5. Both time blocks will include a brief introduction by the invited speaker, followed by an open discussion among all participants.
We can offer all our invitees one night’s lodging in Hanover, on either Friday, Nov. 11th or Saturday, Nov. 12th. We will also provide meals for the group on Saturday. If you plan to attend the colloquium, please RSVP by September 20, 2011 and let us know which night you would like a hotel room reserved for you, as our accommodation space is limited. Also please indicate whether you will join us for lunch and/or dinner.
