The Italy at Columbia series invites prominent Columbia University professors to open one of their regularly scheduled classes to the public, bringing students and the community together in the Academy building. This spring the Academy welcomes Robert Somerville from the Departments of History and Religion.
Robert Somerville is the Tremaine Professor of Religion and Professor of History at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D at Yale University. His primary research interests include the history of Christianity through the 16th century Reformation, the Medieval Latin Church, the Papacy in the High Middle Ages and Medieval Latin Manuscripts.
