Gabriela Badea (French department) will discuss a dissertation chapter.
Abstract:
The part of my chapter that we will be workshopping on Tuesday concerns the imagery depicted in the attached illumination, a garden of contemplation where a personified heart undergoes a gruesome crucifixion. If you would like to know more about the “villains” that bleed the heart dry, why that is and how this is connected with medieval affect theories, email me at [email protected] for a copy of my long winded first draft.

I attempt to link Rene d’Anjou’s Mortifiement de Vaine Plaisance (a didactic treatise of generic import) to life writing and autobiography, so if you’d like to see me fail in the demonstration of this very bold hypothesis, email me for a copy of said paper. Also, there are some coat of arms involved!
