The conference includes a showing of the film The Disputation, which dramatizes the interreligious debate between Nahmanides and Friar Pablo Christiani (a Jewish convert to Christianity) at Barcelona in 1263. Speakers include Robert Chazan, Ed Mazza, Lor Piper, and Barbara Walters, on topics concerned with the mendicant orders, the Feast of Corpus Christi, and fraternal missionary activity. The conference concludes with a presentation at the Morgan Library by the curator of Medieval and Renaissance Collections, Robert Wieck, as well as admission to the Morgan’s current exhibition “Illuminating Faith: The Eucharist in Medieval Life and Art.”
