Bryn Mawr College will host a symposium on the Italian Humanist Poggio Bracciolini on Friday evening, April 8th, and Saturday, April 9th. The conference is free and open to all. Poggio Bracciolini (1380-1459) is noted for his rediscovery of classical texts and his design of a new script that served as a model for the printed roman typefaces. This conference will be concerned with all of Poggio Bracciolini’s activities and will bring to campus distinguished international scholars in the field, beginning with a keynote lecture by Victoria Kirkham of the University of Pennsylvania.
