Call for Abstracts: TULCON 19

Do you have a linguistics research project to share? Consider submitting an abstract to the Toronto Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (TULCON19)!

Showcasing your work at an undergraduate conference is one of the best ways to grow as a linguist – if you’ve completed a squib, research paper, or independent research project, send in an abstract. It’s a great opportunity to share your research, strengthen your presentation skills, and meet fellow linguists from a range of schools.

Details below!

Call for Abstracts — Toronto Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (TULCON19)
Canada, March 13-15, 2026
The Society of Linguistics Undergraduate Students (SLUGS) at the University of Toronto is excited to announce its 19th annual Toronto Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (TULCON19)! This conference will be held in-person at the University of Toronto’s St. George (downtown) campus on the 13th, 14th and 15th of March 2026.
Linguistics and the Internet is the theme for TULCON19. This year’s conference emphasizes the evolving relationship between language and digital communication, from metalinguistic pedagogy to language revitalization. We are hoping to highlight interdisciplinary research and showcase student work done in collaboration with different departments. However, undergraduates are encouraged to submit research in any subfield of linguistics!
TULCON is a conference organized by undergraduate students, highlighting undergraduate research (either independent or co-authored). All undergraduate students who are seeking to present either independent linguistics research or work that they have assisted with are encouraged to submit. If you are presenting work completed as a research assistant, please have the principal investigator email us to confirm your permission to present.
Theme: Linguistics and the Internet
Deadline: January 10, 2026 (11:59 pm EST)
Contact: [email protected], please include “TULCON19” in the subject line
