Congratulations to the three Columbia linguistics graduates awarded Fulbright fellowships for 2025 – 2026!
Wasa Magari Ball (CC ‘25) will undertake a research project on Sanskrit grammar and linguistic thought in Pune, India. Wasa double-majored in Linguistics and Philosophy and minored in Anthropology.
Lex Meisel (CC ‘25) will travel to Barcelona to research the Alguerese dialect of Catalan, using archival sources to extend the historical linguistics research that comprised his senior thesis. Lex double-majored in Linguistics and Comparative Literature and minored in Catalan.
Alice Rodi (BC ‘25) will work as an English Teaching Assistant in Indonesia. Alice majored in Linguistics and Anthropology while completing significant coursework in Indonesia, which was also the topic of her senior thesis.
