Danny Brown

Danny Brown is a musical theatre writer, dramaturg, and musician based in New York, originally from Los Angeles, CA. He has worked with Hartford Stage Company, Goodspeed Musicals, TheatreWorks Hartford, and Playhouse on Park, and has created work with several New York and Connecticut theatre artists. Favorite credits include “The Pansy Craze” (Hartford Stage; dramaturg and music arrangements), “Ruthy” (staring Sam Massell and Liz Larsen; book, music, and lyrics), “The Things They Carried” (Hartt School; book, music, and lyrics), and “Our Country’s Good” (Hartt School; original music for production).

He studied theatre and music at the Professional School for the Arts in Torrance, CA, and received his BFA in Musical Theatre from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. Currently, Danny is an MFA Dramaturgy student at Columbia University and is preparing for another workshop/reading of his musical “Ruthy”.
