Reilly Conlon

Reilly Conlon is a dramaturg, teaching artist, choreographer, songwriter, and all around theatre nerd entering her second year as a Columbia MFA Dramaturg.

Reilly has her double bachelors in Secondary Communication & Theatre Arts Education and Secondary Language, Literature & Writing as well as a minor in Drama & Theatre for the Young from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to coming to Columbia, she taught High School ELA and Public Speaking to an incredible group of young adults in Dearborn, Michigan. She also served as the Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Horizon Performing Arts, the first educational theatre non-profit in southeastern Michigan founded on the idea that anyone, no matter the age, can grow and learn through the performing arts. In 2018 she was lucky enough to spend a summer at Seattle Children’s Theatre to train as a teaching artist. Since February of 2021 she has been serving as the executive assistant at the Gurman Agency LLC learning the ropes of what it takes to be a literary agent.

A great lover of dance, music, science fiction, and all things children’s media related, she is constantly looking for ways to expand her skillset as a dramaturg and teacher. She is enticed by a good question and often doesn’t concern herself with finding the “right” answer. Humor, play, and empathy are the most essential parts of her process as an artist.

Currently, she resides in Harlem with her fiancé, their extensive Pop Funko collection, and two wonderful pups.
