We are switching our mobile plugin of choice from MobilePress to WPtouch. These plugins make sure a mobile-friendly version of your blog is sent to mobile browsers. We switched from MobilePress due to its lack of updates and poor default theme. WPtouch is actively maintained and its theme provides full access to your blog.
If you have been using MobilePress, then the switch has already been made (with a few exceptions). Any blogs with customizations to the MobilePress settings have not been converted over, though we do recommend it.
MobilePress is still available for use. If you would like to enable MobilePress or WPtouch please refer to the instructions below.
To enable MobilePress:
- Make sure WPtouch is disabled (see below).
- Log in to your blog’s dashboard.
- On the left-hand side menu, click on “Plugins”.
- Scroll down until you see the entry for MobilePress.
- Click “Activate”.
To enable WPtouch:
- Make sure MobilePress is disabled (see below).
- Log in to your blog’s dashboard.
- On the left-hand side menu, click on “Plugins”.
- Scroll down until you see the entry for WPtouch.
- Click “Activate”.
To disable MobilePress:
- Log in to your blog’s dashboard.
- On the left-hand side menu, click on “Plugins”.
- Scroll down until you see the entry for MobilePress.
- Click “Deactivate”.
To disable WPtouch:
- Log in to your blog’s dashboard.
- On the left-hand side menu, click on “Plugins”.
- Scroll down until you see the entry for WPtouch.
- Click “Deactivate”.
