I am currently a doctoralcropped-10469484_879588102070262_3953992819602474002_n.jpg student in the Epidemiology Department at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, hoping to finish my PhD in Spring 2016.  I’m affiliated with the social, injury, and chronic disease clusters.

My primary research focus is contextual determinants of health, particularly through influences on physical activity and pedestrian injury risk. Partially as a consequence of the difficulties of making inferences from contextual data, I have a secondary research focus on epidemiologic methodology.

I used to program computers for a living, which may be why I use R, teach others to use R, and have made (very modest) contributions to R packages.
