Tina Jiwatram-Negrón

Tina’s research work and teaching interests include intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, sex trading, mental health, culturally grounded practice, and HIV prevention in the U.S., Central Asia, and South/Southeast Asia.  As a former program and contract manager at a San Francisco non-profit organization, Tina specialized in children, youth, and family services, macro-program management, and grant development. She also sat on a local community board and co-founded a group to advocate for gender appropriate behavioral health services for women and girls. For several years prior, Tina focused her work on intimate partner violence and mental health at several NGOs in the U.S., where she engaged in an array of services including counseling/therapy, case management, crisis intervention, research, and training development. Currently, Tina is pursuing her PhD in Social Work at Columbia University. [email protected]
