In the Fall of 2004, the pioneering PhD Program in Sustainable Development was launched with six students. As of Fall 2021, the program has a growing network of alumni and 30+ current students.

Our work aims to support the needs of society with cutting edge research at the juncture of the physical and social sciences. Our program remains the global leader in solution-oriented, multi-disciplinary education at the doctoral level.
