Research (Primary Sources)

While working on the same project a couple of years back at the N.Y.C. Transit archives, I was examining primary sources for my research. In this case, I was handling and documenting some of the original plans for the now world famous glass tile designs that now line the interiors of many of the city’s older subway stations.  Below I have included some detailed shots of these hand drawn and hand painted designs, some dating back as far as the 1930’s.
