The 48 Laws of Power

A book that caught my interest was the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and Joost Elfers. Though I haven’t gotten around to personally reading it, I did enjoy Derek Sivers notes on the book, chuckling along with his warning that “some think this book is pure evil.” Reading through his comprehensive notes soon revealed why, yet I do not think the content inaccurately represents human nature. In fact, a lot of the rules of power are things that we, as social humans, consciously learn as truths upon interacting amongst each other throughout our lives, yet do not verbalize them as they as they reveal the negative, selfish, self-optimizing side of human nature that we try our best efforts to reject.

Below, I’ve listed the 48 laws as outlined in Sivers’ notes (not to say I agree with all of them or even a majority of them).
