MISSION

The HSF Scholar Chapter exists to promote academic success and professional preparation among college students, while encouraging them to serve as role models and leaders in their communities.

HISTORY

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation’s leading Hispanic scholarship organization providing the Hispanic community more college scholarships and outreach support than any other organizations in the country. In its 34 years, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund has awarded over 90,000 scholarships worth more than $250 million to students in need.

HSF initiated the Scholar Chapter Network in 2001 with a grant from Goldman Sachs Foundation. During the first year, the Network consisted of five Scholar Chapters. This year (2010), there are Scholar Chapters on 32 campuses across the country.

The HSF Scholar Chapter at Columbia University was recognized by Barnard’s SGA in the 2006-2007 school year and the Activities Board at Columbia (ABC) in the Spring semester of 2011.
