Peter G. Kirchschlaeger

IMG2500PD Dr. Peter G. Kirchschlaeger is the Co-Director of the Centre of Human Rights Education (ZMRB) of the University of Teacher Education Central Switzerland Lucerne.  Since 2003, PD Dr. Kirchschlaeger has served as the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the International Human Rights Forum Lucerne (IHRF) of the University of Teacher Education Central Switzerland Lucerne, and since 2007 as a Lecturer and Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Centre of Human Rights Education (ZMRB) at the University of Teacher Education Central Switzerland Lucerne. He has been a Lecturer at different national and international universities sinc e 2004, and a study director of the international study program “Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS Human Rights Education” at the University of Teacher Education Central Switzerland, a position that he assumed in 2010. He is a member of the Board of the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Human Rights, its Cluster-Manager Human Rights Education, a consultative expert in the field of human rights and human rights education for international and national organizations, e.g. the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNESCO, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the European Union, and several governments and NGOs (e.g. Amnesty International). He is an alumnus of the Swiss Study Foundation, the Expert-Jury of the Europeans for Peace-Program,  the Jury of the Swiss Ethics Award, and the Board of the NGO “Wasser fuer Wasser”. PD Dr. Kirchschlaeger is also the Coordinator of the Human Rights Education-Network of the European National Human Rights Institutions.
