Hassan Mortagy was a final year M.S. Student in Management Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering in conjunction with Columbia Business School. As a part of the MS&E Operations Consulting class, he worked on projects for three different companies. Two of the projects revolve around process optimization and increasing efficiency, while the third one aims to change brand perception and attract millennials. Hassan is proficient in R, Python and Excel and is interested in Business Analytics and Pricing and Revenue Management. Outside the classroom, Hassan enjoys reading and travelling. He is also passionate about table tennis and had won a table tennis tournament during his undergraduate studies.
Kapil Sharma is a final year M.S. student in Operations Research at Columbia University. He has a deep seated interest in Analytics and Product Development based on data driven insights. He previously worked in the product team at a tech start-up based in India where his work involved drawing actionable insights from user data and designing and implementing back end technological systems that help exploit his findings. Being proficient in C++, Python, R, etc., he likes to work at the intersection of technology and business. He is also a film enthusiast and spends most of his free time on Netflix.
Kevin Yu was a Senior in Columbia College studying applied mathematics and statistics. He mostly used Excel for data cleaning and analysis and codes in R and Java. Besides academics, he likes to play the violin and had been part of the University Orchestra for 3 years.
Mengxiong Li was a final year M.A. student in Statistics at Columbia University. He had studied Applied Mathematics and Statistics at University of California-Los Angeles. His interest areas are Data Analytics and Quantitative Finance. Because of his interest areas, he had a lot of experience in both data analytics and quantitative finance. He worked in several data technology companies and proprietary trading companies located in the United States and China. He is also proficient in R, SAS, Java and C++ and can speak English, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese. During his leisure time, he loves playing golf and tennis.
Rohan Talati was a first year Master of Science Operations Research (MSOR) student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University. He has worked in the Analytics departments of companies specializing in Pharma-Retail, eCommerce and Technology sectors. He is proficient in Python, Excel and SQL and also has experience working in R and SAS. He is passionate about learning various data visualization techniques and problem solving.
Ryo Theodore Kono was a Senior in Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) majoring in Operations Research and minoring in Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Statistics. He had an interest in business analytics and data science, and is proficient in MATLAB, Python, C++, R, and STATA. Outside of school, Ryo enjoys playing squash, tennis, and the piano.
Steven Azeka was a Doctoral student in Instructional Technology and Media at Teachers College, Columbia University. His data analysis skills and computer skills include SPSS, R, C, C++ and Java. Mr. Azeka has been awarded several education related fellowships and published in the New York Times – The Learning Network. He worked on the online learning engagement and outcome research in the lab.
Yangxiaoxiao Shi was a second year Master of Science Operations Research (MSOR) student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Statistics for Finance. He mainly used R and Python for data analysis, but also had some experience in C/C++, MATLAB, and SQL. He is also a professional and passionate PowerPoint designer.
Yilun Guo was a second year Master of Science Operations Research (MSOR) student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University, having received her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Math. She is proficient in Python, R and SQL, also having rich experience in STATA and SAS. She is passionate about data visualization and the applications of data mining in the business world.
Yiqi Wang is a final year M.A. student in Statistics at Columbia University, having received her B.S. in Statistics at University of California, Santa Barbara. Her interests include quantitative analysis of data and machine learning. She has experience in the creation of recommendation systems and graphical models, along with experience on valuation and industry research in finance. Proficiency of Java, Python, C/C++ and R aid her in the application of machine learning algorithms on real-world problems. When possible, Yiqi enjoys kayaking and snorkeling.
Xin Wen was a first year Masters of Science Operations Research (MSOR) student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a Mathematics and Statistics minor at Penn State. She is proficient in Python and R for data analysis and data visualization. She also has experience in SQL and SAS. She is passionate about Business and Market Analytics.
