April 3, 2014 – UNSPWG members engaged in an informative conversation with DRC First Counselor and Legal Advisor to the UN Mission Zenon Mukongo Ngay. He presented on the struggles DRC has faced in the past, from its time in the grip of the dictator Mobutu Sese Seko, to its current struggles with militia groups, the world coltan demand (the metal found abundantly in Congo that is used in practically every single cell phone and communication device that is made) that is fueling Congo’s inner wars, and much more.
