“In each calendar year, a direct child care subsidy will be made to employees in the amount of”

“To obtain the subsidy, each family must complete and submit the standard Child Care Form and supporting documentation to the union office not later than December 30 each year. No more than one subsidy shall be paid to any one family.”
“The formula for distribution [of the Child Care Fund shall] be established by the Union, subject to approval by the
University. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.”
For reference, the subsidy amounts (before taxes) for the 2021 year were as follows:
1 Child – $1,557.97
2 Children – $3,115.94
3 Children – $4,673.91
As in the past, members see the Child Care subsidy added to their bi-weekly paycheck and taxed at a separate rate once Columbia HR confirms a payout date.
