Eat like Seeple by joining SIPA Eats

On our blog, we often talk about repetitive, but necessary topics, like the admissions process and the curriculum. But there’s so much more SIPA has to offer outside of the classroom. Thus, I’m sharing a post by Program Assistant Katherine McGehee, MIA ’15, regarding one of SIPA’s newest student groups, SIPA Eats. SIPA has 46 active student organizations, and SIPA Eats has become one of the graduate school’s most talked about groups.

The Office of Admissions has received several inquiries from incoming Fall 2015 students about orientation, course registration and assistantships. Luckily, one of our Admissions Ambassadors decided to share with all of you some “insider’s knowledge” on how to approach academics and financial aid at SIPA. New Student Series Part 1: Meet Ashley Marissa Portillo

You may recall a recent blog post asking for our incoming Fall 2015 students to introduce themselves on the Admissions Blog. Since then, I’ve received several submissions from your fellow Seeple. (Thank you to everyone who’s participated!) To kick off this weekly series, let’s start with Ashley Marissa Portillo, a California native who likes to practice yoga and climb the Inca ruins (not necessarily at the same time). She’s concentrating in Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy, and hopes to work for the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer after graduating from SIPA. Below, you’ll find her responses to the New Student Survey.   Read More →
