Excited to be back on campus for the new school year! It looks like students are still enjoying their summer break, as it’s fairly empty aside from a handful of Asian tourists. I’ve noticed that a lot of them have elementary school age children. They’re definitely ahead of the curve 0 getting a 10 year head start on college prep with visits to all the Ivy League campuses 🙂
As the new semester starts, now seems like as good a time as any to reflect on my career at Columbia thus far and what I can do to make the most of my remaining time here. One of the things I want to get better at this year is not allowing my phone to distract me so easily. It’s just so hard to resist peeking at your phone every time a new push notification comes in. The problem is that every time I check it I lose my train of thought, and the constant context switching really slows me down. Anyway, I’m committed. This semester the phone stays in my bag.
