Marketing for Digital Publications

Your journal, review, or digital project is essential. Everyone in your community knows your publication by name and waits for your latest issue or update to read cutting edge research and innovative writing. From emerging scholars to highly regarded figures in your profession, authors submit their manuscripts for your consideration. Or, at least, that’s the dream.

So, how do you build your reputation and create a vibrant community around your digital publication? In this workshop we’ll talk about digital marketing strategies to craft a unique identity and attract writers and readers.

We’ll learn how to define the scope of your publication and write clear mission statements, calls for papers, and information about your publication that will attract the authors and content you’re looking for. We’ll also explore how to grow an audience and create an engaged community, from increasing reach and visibility in a sea of online information and social media to tracking citations, views, and readership through analytics and other metrics.
