In the Fall of 2004, the pioneering PhD Program in Sustainable Development was launched with six students. In the Spring of 2010, it has three graduates and twenty-six students.

Our work aims to support the needs of society with cutting edge research at the juncture of the physical and social sciences. Our program remains the global leader in solution-oriented, multi-disciplinary education at the doctoral level.
