SUMMARY:WHEATS - Workshop for the History of Environment\, Agriculture\, Technology\, & Science
DESCRIPTION:WHEATS is an intensive\, cutting-edge conference for graduate students and recent PhDs who study the environment\, agriculture\, technology or science from a historical perspective. \n  \nThe workshop provides an outstanding forum for presenting and refining works-in-progress. Eight papers are discussed over the course of the one-day conference. Papers are circulated to all participants in advance\, and each is assigned a senior scholar discussant who provides feedback and solicits comments from fellow participants. The second day of the conference features a panel discussion with editors from academic journals and university presses about publishing a first article or book. Past attendees have found the conference to be extraordinarily helpful for improving their work and networking with colleagues in similar disciplines. \n  \nApplications for the Call for Papers are due April 15\, 2016.  Please see the conference website for details.
