Geffen Professor of Medical and Scientific Journalism\, Columbia University \n  \nThe Metabolic Condition: From Concept to Science\, Medicine\, and Culture will review how the concept of metabolism has developed from the beginning of the modern era of medicine to the most recent scientific\, clinical\, and social understanding.
