SUMMARY:Science! The Musical
DESCRIPTION:“Science! The Musical” is a new musical about life in the lab written by Presidental Scholar in Society and Neuroscience scholar Andrew Goldman and directed by Jenna Hoffman. Follow the story of Janice\, a first-year Ph.D. student\, who has just had her first paper accepted to an academic conference. The only problem is\, she hasn’t written the paper yet! In the few short weeks before the conference\, Janice must learn to do interdisciplinary science. Will she publish\, or will she perish!? \nAndrew Goldman (Writer) joined the inaugural Presidental Scholars in Society and Neuroscience class after receiving his PhD in Cognition of Musical Improvisation from the University of Cambridge. His research explores the subtle effects of improvisation in music and daily life. A pianist since the age of five\, Andrew has extensive classical musical training. \nJenna Hoffman (Director) is a Chicago native and proud graduate of New York University. She is thrilled to be working with Andrew and the Center for Science and Society on this project! Recent New York directing credits include Jesus\, Violet\, Hedda Gabler\, Alkestis\, and Jack or the Submission. Currently\, Jenna is working on her upcoming show Hekabe. \nTickets are required and can be purchased here. Student tickets are $10 and general audience tickets cost $15. \nIn deference to the audience and performers\, there is no late seating. Please allow sufficient travel time to arrive at the venue 10-15 minutes before the show’s start time. \nPlease note\, this play will also be performed February 23\, 2018 at 8PM\, February 24\, 2018 at 7PM\, February 25\, 2018 at 3PM\, and February 25\, 2018 at 7PM \n  \n
